This manual describes how to create and edit products. When using attributes they should first be created in conjunction with Tauros Media.

PRODUCT TYPES
Magento offers various types of products that make a significant flexibility in the creation of new products. Here follows a list of product types:

Simple Product: This is the simplest type of product .
It is suitable for all kinds of physical (shippable) products.

Virtual Product: This is a product that requires no shipping or stock.
It is usually used for guarantees or services.

Downloadable Product: This is a digitally downloadable product that sells one or more files from a product and provides examples of these files. These downloadable files are on your server or as a URL linked to another server.

Grouped Product: This option allows you to display a number of similar products on the same page. if you sell chef’s knives and you have the same knife in four different sizes, then you can create a grouped product to display. All four sizes. Customers can choose the size they want and can then add it to the cart.

Configurable product: This product allows your customers to choose a variant they want through a dropdown menu. For example, you sell T-shirts in two colors and three sizes. You need to create six different variations (each with its own SKU) and these six then add to a configurable product menu where customers can choose size and color then add these to their shopping cart. An almost similar functionality is possible using conventional options for simple products. The difference between a configurable product and a product with conventional options is that the stock is not updated or individual options given for the purchase and it is not possible to go directly to a given set of options. This also makes it difficult for a search engine to find a product.

Bundle: This product is composed of elements that are presented in different ways and that are traced from existing products. A good example of a bundle is a complete computer. For a computer you can specify hoew much RAM you need or what kind of monitor you want to be included in the bundle.

CREATING A NEW PRODUCT
The following steps are the same for all product types. Subsections describe the differences between each product.

From the Catalog menu of the CMS, select the Manage Products option to display as in the example below, a list of products again:

It is possible to duplicate to create the definition of a similar product by editing the product, and then click the Duplicate button.

INITIAL SETTINGS PRODUCT PAGE
Click the Add Product button at the top right of the page to display the following page:

1. In the field attribute se , select the set that contains the attributes that describe the product. If you want to create a simple product, select nothing (default).
2. In the Product Type field choose the type of product you want to create.

Click the Continue button to display a page that is similar to the page below. (Differences are the different types of products that you can choose ):

3. Fill in all mandatory fields marked with an ( * ).
4. Select in the status field the option to indicate that the product is available in the webshop.
5 . Let the field Visibility stay on Catalog, Search. This determines whether the product will be in the catalog pages and / or search results visible. The following describes the remaining fields on the page:

Name: The name of the product appears in the webshop.
Description: The description that will appear in the middle of the product page.
Short Description: The description that will appear at the top of the product page.
SKU: The SKU of the product. Magento uses SKU as a unique identifier for this product . SKU is global, meaning that if the SKU of a product update in a shop, it is also updated in all the different online shops .
Weight: The weight of the product. This value is typically used in calculations about the shipment.
Set Product as New from / to date: The time frame in which this product can be used on different parts of your shop as a new product promoted .
URL key: The search engine friendly URL indentificator is the name used for this product in the URL of the product You can not use spaces in this field. If you leave the field blank, one is automatically created by a Magento

PRICE PRODUCT CONFIGURATION PAGE
Select the Prices option from the product data menu on the left side of the page to display the following page:

6. Fill in all mandatory fields marked with an ( * ) .
This section allows you to define the Price and Special price for this produc. The Special Price field is used for discounts and promotions.
7. Select the option at Tax Class to 19 BTW, this indicates that there is 19 % VAT on the products.

META INFO PRODUCT CONFIGURATIE PAGINA
Select the Meta Information option in the panel on the left to display the following page:

8. On this page you can provide additional information that makes it easier for search engines to find the product.

Meta Title: This corresponds to the line of text at the top of Google. It is important to mention these Brand, product name and keywords.

Meta Keywords: This turns off all the keywords and / or keyword combinations that you want to be found. Between each keyword, just put a comma then a space.

Meta Description: This is the visible piece of text that appears in Google. Try to use your product name as many times as possible in the text.

IMAGE PRODUCT CONFIGURATION PAGE

Select the Picture option in the panel on the left side of the page to display the following page:

9. Specify the image to be shown in the shop to represent this product. Use the Browse Files button to select a file. You can select more than one file to have multiple files at the same uploaded. Once you have the image file specified for this product, click the Upload Files button.
Select the appropriate option for each image as follows :

Label : Alternative text for the label of the image
Sort Order : The order in which the image is displayed in the slide and MORE VIEWS options
Base Image: Great product image (zoomed )
Small Image : Used in the category list, wish list etc.
Thumbnail : Used in the shopping cart and related products
Exclude: Close picture of the slideshow and gallery MORE VIEWS
Delete: Deletes the image from the collection

STOCK PRODUCT CONFIGURATION PAGE
Select the Inventory option in the panel on the left side of the page to display the following page:

10. In the Inventory control field, select Yes to specify that all stock options are available for this product, or select No to specify that you do not want to manage (the product supply in this case the product in the shop are temporarily available for your customers).
In the Quantity field, specify how many products you have in stock .
In Stock Availability field, select the option In stock .
The field Minimum / Maximum to cart allows you to limit so they are not sold to wholesalers. Availability of products that have a good price for retailers
In the field Minimum number for message Out of Stock. Specify that when the stock is lower than this number, the product is not in stock is presented .

CATEGORY PRODUCT CONFIGURATION PAGE
Select the categories in the panel on the left side of the page to display the following page:

11. Specify the categories that you want the product to belong to by ticking the boxes.
You can add a product to more than one category. You can also add a product to a category when editing a category.

RELATED PRODUCTS, AND CROSS-SELL AND UP-SELL CONFIGURATION PAGE

Each of these pages is the same, and makes it possible to manage relationships between products. The next will show on every page:

12. Check the appropriate boxes to add products. You can use any of the available filters to search for the products more easy.
13. Then click the Save button to save the product. If you did everything right, the product is immediately visible in the shop.
